i've discovered a slick way to here at lot of jazz at low cost...

emusic.com has a pretty wide collection of jazz...some fat girl, clifford, lee morgan, etc...available for download. there's a free trial period, then it's $9.95 a month. i emailed them and they said they pay royalties, though i'm not sure how much. at least, musicians aren't being totally ripped off.

i put cuts on an mp3 player and use it while working out. it's a great and easy way to check out a lot of stuff i've never heard without buying the whole album/cd. this mornig i put chet baker's lady bird on repeat and heard it about 20 times on a stairmaster. wow!
