Me 38b has a fair amount of laquer wear. Enough that I would like to just remove it all. My only concern is that I might have problems with the nickel plating underneath the laquer. I've never heard of a just nickel plated horn. That is why I am concerned. Is there any problems associated with raw nickel platting? Other then just having to polish it more.

The nickel got a little foggy looking on mine when it lost a lot of the lacquer. A relacquer job was a nice investment. I bought one one time that had the lacquer stripped and it looked pretty dull all over.

You can strip the horn with any paint remover and a good brass polish will make the nickel shine.
