Hola Amigos! Buenos de Cinco de Mayo! Our Mariachi trumpeter friends should be out in force today and making bucks.

A) What horns do they play? Conn 38b Constellation / Olds Mendez / Kanstul Mariachi what else?

B) What mouthpieces do they use? Parduba Double cup mouthpieces? What else?

C) Anyone play that style?

D) Are there any books for the Gringos to learn from?

Almost all of the Mariachi music I have done in Minneapolis has been by ear. These guys learn to play that way at a young age. Somebody would have to transcribe all the tunes on paper. Lots of work...............

But boy, is it fun to play!

(And be around all the muy bueno Senoritas)

Ole!
