I wouldn't change a thing. I would perform, teach, and build trumpets. _________________ Harrelson Trumpets

Well I don't think I would buy one of those .... I might look into buying Herseth's Mt. Vernon C Trumpet though!!
If I bought that Monette, I might as well buy a gold plated car to go with it. _________________ Bb - Yamaha Xeno 8335RGS

Even if I won the lottery, I wouldn't buy a Monette without trying them out, but I'd sure go to Portland and try Dave's horns and then perhaps buy one! |

If I won the lottey I would buy a house with a room that would be dedicated to my trumpet collection. Monettes would definatly be part of the collection. Also, Mt. Vernons, Malone conversions, Eclipses, and on and on...
I might even pick up a few Harrelsons just to see what they're all about. |

I'd buy a Steinway or a Baldwin baby grand piano. |

If I won the lottery, I'd buy a new one.
The order with Monette would be shortly behind the Blackburn one! |

Anyone thinking of purchasing this horn had better buy a set of weights first and then hook up with a good personal trainer.

If I won the lottery... I would buy the Monette Company and maybe the Schilke company.... (depending on how much I won and if Dave and/or Andrew Naumann are willing to sell... ) _________________ J. Fowler

I'd open a jazz club on my block in Manhattan and pay good local bands well every night. And I'd lead the Monday night jam session of course, but I'd start it a 4 in the afternoon instead of midnight. And I'd spend money marketing it but wouldn't charge a cover.
Oh wait, that means the money would run out in about 2 months...
Or I'd quit my day job and take my girl out to a different jazz club every night and not worry about the bar tab.
And, maybe, just maybe, I'd buy a vintage Committee as a backup for... my vintage Committee. |

I'd get a really good accountant, and set up trust funds in perpituity for all the local county middle school band programs. It is a shame when the feeder programs for the high schools get a smaller annual budget than each individual bus driver. |

I just thought of a fantasy...If I won the lottery...I'd arrange to have Wynton Marsalis, Doc Severinsen, Maynard Ferguson, and Arturo Sandoval come to my house and let me judge them in a Trumpet competition.
My GUESS is that Wynton would win the overall competition. _________________ MARK /aka "musicmork"/ aka " The Creator "

This reminds me of a discussion I was having with another teacher recently (she's a bassoon teacher, specialising in contrabassoon - a brass player in attitude!) about the most extravagant thing we could think of, musically speaking.
Once we had established that money was no object, we came up with this idea for music for a wedding.
You hire all the world's finest string ensembles - and get them to play elsewhere!!! |
