I may have a chance of buying a Getzen Eterna II (only about half a year old) for a very good price. Only problem. The seller lifes 1200 Miles away from me, so I can not test it beforehand.
I do have a Getzen Eterna I C trumpet from 1986 and I do like the responce and the way it blows, but I have no idea how it would compare to the newer Bb trumpet.
I only play classical and church music with my trumpets. _________________ '83 B&H Sovereign Cornet, MB w/Sparx 4; 4B

blending has more to do with the player then the horn IMHO. _________________ www.erikveldkamp.com |

I agree that it is mostly the player - unless the horn is really out of tune. I played a used Eterna II at a Music Store last year and I hated it. I have been such a fan of the original Eternas that I thought this horn would be great. However, I just didn't like it. I played a classic Eterna a couple of weeks ago and it was a super horn.

I'm using an Eterna II right now while the valves get fixed on my Custom. The Eterna II has a more solid core, but I also think I get less response from the horn. Sadly the trumpet section at my High School doesn't play bachs, so I don't know for sure, but with my past experience with the Custom blending with bachs, the Eterna would be able to blend better. I also think it would blend better than an Eterna I IMO. (the eterna II that i'm using has a reverse leadpipe and a square tuning slide). I'm a little strapped for time, so if you have any more questions feel free to either PM me, or post them. |

Thank you to who posted this forum. I was thinking about buying a Getzen Eterna II because I heard they were good for the money but personally it is hard tuning a Holton T602 to a Bach strad everyday. |
