for an intermediate trumpet, its ok. but I would never waste my money on an interdediate horn. spend the extra bucks on a pro stomvi, then youll be getting something you can use for a long time.

Here's a link to a much, much better horn for less dough (at the moment). It's a Bach Strad offered on eBay by Alan Bergeron, who has a great reputation for selling excellent, used horns.

I bought a gold plated Strad from him earlier this year and it's a fabulous horn. I don't know Alan personally and have no connection to the sale of this horn, but I'd sure recommend it as a great opportunity to get a fine horn at a very reasonable price.

I agree don't spend the money. I have come across some intermediate horns that played as good as professionals (i.e. Besson International) but they are hard to find. Don't take a chance on a horn and buyer you don't know and feel comfortable with. Go with the Strad.

I think I have to interject here. Nobody really asked what kind of playing kimmerz549 wants the horn for.
Do you want a great horn at a good price? If so, do like stated, save up and buy a pro horn.
Do you want a weekend horn for playing with Hymns at church? Are you not planning on playing much but want a decent playing horn that looks great? If so, get it. I have a Stomvi Elite Picc and I love it. Yes it is a Pro horn and it is a Picc. However, I have tried the Forte and I like it. I do agree, it is not a horn I would get.
IMHO

I want a horn that I can play in a college band that I have already been in for one year. I plan on playing all through college (I have about 5 years left) and also beyond college. I also am looking into a Getzen Renaissance for $900 to buy...I have already told the guy that I am interested in it and I tried it out and loved it. But if I can find a trumpet for a better price that I is good, I will go for it!

Hey Kim, I would say as many times as I have been posting about what I should get I have been shot down about intermediate trumpets. If you like the Getzen go for it. The other one looks ok though. Is Stomvi a known name?

I would go with the Getzen over the Stomvi. The Getzen is a pro horn and would last you longer and better than the Stomvi intermediate. Especially if you like the Getzen.

But a horn you should consider is the Zeus Guarnerius. Great playing horn and you can get it brand new in just about any finish you want for about the same price as the Getzen. Just a thought.
