I use Hetmans No. 3 on my Z horn and have no unusual problems with the valves. _________________ John Haysom

ok, so here's my follow-up from 3 weeks ago (just one day shy);
i went out and bought the Zaja Blue, oiled-up the valves every other day or so, and voila - no more sticky Z valves in the upper registery!...simple as that. at first i thought maybe it was just coincidence, but after 3-4 latin gigs where soloing from G (top of staff) to D, sometimes E, then back down and up again, the valves didn't stick as before.
So, if you play a Z and you're experiencing sticky valves - Get Zaja Blue first before dumping the horn (which i almost did) or taking it be valve blasted or something...
Thanks so much to all who replied to my original post!! I hope this will help someone else in the future.
I hope Yamaha will address this issue at some point too.
Gracias,
LL
p.s.
i'm still interested in finding a resource to purchase the rounded tuning slide in liue of the standard squarish one. if anyone can point me in the right direction, it would be greatly appreciated. |
