Hey guys, I have a cherry '74 large bore Doc Eterna. This is one hell of a horn. It is 99.8% mint. Played less than a year....since '74! Haven't considered parting with it, but just curious, what do you think it's value might be?
Oh....original Getzen case, same conditon.

Don't give up that horn(unless financial situations mandate). I know that horn plays as well as any $1,000 or better horn.
In the undervalued market....$600-$700 bucks maybe(given it's mint condition). Consider that Large bore models are hard to come by.
I know the fella who recently sold me my LB model would love to buy it.
He knows how good they are. |

Hi Daff
I can't tell you in $'s because as with most things it is worth what anyone will pay, but to give you an idea of what it would be worth to me I'd give you a Conn V1 46BRS that is nearly a year old and is in mint condition for your Severinsen.
I rate the Severinsens that highly, and I'd hang on to it too.
you lucky fella

Well I guess this was a dud of a thread. Thanks for you feedback guys.
I doubt I'll ever part with the horn. Not only is it an excellent horn, but it's pretty cool having something so old, yet new. I don't let it sit in the box anymore. That would be a shame.
bj, what a coincidence....my other horn is a V1!
Have a good one. |

Hi Daff
That was the point I was making about your horn. We can go out and buy a really good V1 any time we want. We just can't go and buy a mint severinsen unless it's been refurbished - and I'd prefer the original as new version you've got, closely followed by a refurb by one of the finest instrument ttechs of our day (Leigh Mckinney, Wayne Tannabe etc).
You are a lucky man - I'd certainly keep the horn.

Dosent surprise me that folks who like the Getzen would also like the V1. One of my favorites in that price range. |
