Bach 3C, cornet-7C.
(and now contemplating a Curry 3C).

I recently switched to a Schilke 16 and it has made a tremendous difference, with far better ability to hit the high notes, providing excellent tone on my Schilke B5, and endurance is no problem. Having done quite a bit of experimenting with differenct mps, I have learned that the right mouthpiece for a player makes a huge difference. |

Greg Black "New YorK' 5
Custom made Mark curry L-10
those are the ones I'm playing. It would take too long to list the ones in my drawer. |

Mostly a Schilke 13C4 with a gold rim and cup, but I keep a 12B4 and a 12A4A in case of emergencies involving higher range and more endurance. _________________ 1920 Vega trumpet

I love my Monette B2 (trumpet) in certain horns, and B2FL (cornet), but spend the majority of my time rotating around the Warburton 3 series tops & 9*/10* backbores for all-around playing and a Schilke 17D4D for symphonic parts. Have numerous other Bach, vintage Giardinelli, Laskey, Wick, and Sparx MPs that I can't seem to part with either, though...... _________________ Sparks in Daytona

Well, after a number of years in mouthpice Hell where I played on Bach 1 1/2C, Monette B4 and GR 65M I finally sat down with Brian Scriver of GR and now I play:
Trumpet: GR Butcher 65.6M
Flug: GR Butcher 65.6FL
Cornet: Sparx 4
A consultation with Brian is certainly worthwhile! _________________ Bill

I play a Bob Reeves 43C for most of my playing on B-flat and C trumpets. I'll use a 43S for lead work and a 43S (cornet shank) for piccolo. 43F is my choice mouthpiece for the flugel.
Been playing these pieces for 4.5 years now after playing Bach for 12.

CG Personal.. as a first year player I was advised not to go on any mouthpiece safari's.. So, I've never tried anything else.. But I'm very comfortable with this mpc. _________________ Daniel B. Galloway
