So, Bob Platt is going to be done as the principal trumpet of Berlin very soon. He is sixty five now, and the rule in orchestras in Germany is that you MUST retire at age sixty five. So I wonder what he will do now, he still has a lot of playing left in him. Anyone heard anything??? |

That's true Martin Kretzer and Tamás Velenczei are the principal trumpeters in Berlin. Have a look at

there you'll also find a list of all musicians, in which Bob Platt is NOT included. I remember him being included the last time I visited that page.
By the way, I am going to a concert of the Berlin Philharmonic playing Mahler 5th in October.
