Has anybody tried the Aebesol Countdown to steps or whatever it's called. But yeah if you could really strech out on one tune, just one what would it be?? |

The Cantaloop trumpet solo.. I tried looking for the music score everywhere, but I couldn't get one. I'd really like to try out that solo if I can. |

I seldom hear "I Remember Clifford" mentioned anywhere. The first time I heard this tune was about 1991 when my son was a guitar major at the U of Maine. He sent me a video of the jazz guitar teacher that was there at that time backing up a female student that was performing that song. I have worked on that song now on and off since then on guitar doing a chord/melody thing with it.... very cool song.. guess I should program the changes with band in a box and have some fun on trumpet.

OK! My friend from the burg' Killer Joe just sent me a copy of "The DIZZY GILLESPIE "Things to Come CD" that the Alumni all star Big band recorded LIVE AT THE WONDERFUL MANCHESTER CRAFTSMAN GUILD in Pittsburg in March 2002.
This CD is filled with wonderful trumpet licks:
Terrell Stafford
Earl Gardner
Greg Gisbert
Claudio Roditi
and the Stratomasta' John Faddis but the BEST OF THE VERY BEST LIVE PERFORMANCE ON A CD OF "I REMEMBER CLIFFORD" since that live performance that I heard from Sandoval..is THIS ONE!
CUT # 9 "I REMEMBER CLIFFORD...TERELL STAFFORD NAILS THIS ONE TO THE WOODSHED WALL...SO BEAUTIFULLY, I PROMISE THAT I COULD EVER PERFORM THIS AS WELL...I WOULD TRULY NEVER POST ON THIS BOARD EVER AGAIN.....AND GO OUT IN THE BACK YARD AND BURY MY BELOVED CALLET HORNS...AND BLESSED OLD BESSON! So that I could say that my last performance was PERFECTION!
Go to;
http://www.dizzyalumni.com
and http://www.craftsmensguild.org/news.htm
opps! this link didn't workie..humm???
http://www.w.integritytalent.com
perhaps for a little clarity as the
http://www.mcgjazz.org didn't workie either...
This gift CD!!! KJ...if you are lurking. Is truly a treasure.
