What are the opinions on this book. In the Netherlands it's highly recommended by some great players.

I have it, and it is one of the most helpful books I own.

It seems that the text part of the book is the most interesting.

If you are looking for Text, it is a good book. The musical examples are the Caruso exercises in variuos intervals. For the money you are much better off purchasing the book :"Flexus" by Laurie Frink and John Macneil.
"Flexus" has great exercises based on Caruso and Stamp and comes with a demo CD. Alot of the great players in NYC love this book and seems to be on everyones's music stand.

Another "cudo" for Bob's book. Not meant to be one's only resource, it is a terrific addition to any trumpet players' library. I think of it as my "slump supressor." Re-reading sections on slotting and efficiency always seem to get my chops "tuned up" and back in "race trim" when they wander off course.
