Does anyone have any holiday travel horror stories to share? I just returned from Christmas vacation... here is how mine played out...
12/22/04
Houston to Washington, DC... delayed 4 hours 15 minutes...
Washington, DC to Greenville, SC... delayed 1 hour
finally arrived to destination (Greenville, SC)... United Airlines lost my luggage...
Wore same outfit for almost 2 days until they finally delivered luggage... _________________ J. Fowler

We went to L.A. for Thanksgiving.
Jet Blue out and back.
Everything was on time. All the people were nice.
Just O.K. because there was a lot of traffic in L.A. |

I used to live in Springboro and I can imagine what a mess it was! _________________ There are two sides to a Trumpeter's personality: There is the one that lives only to lay waste to the woodwinds and strings, leaving them lying blue and lifeless along the swath of destruction that is a trumpeter's fury. I made holiday travel easy on myself. I made it a point to run myself out of gas and money before any heavily celebrated days so i couldn't leave until I mustered up soem cash. It worked nicely, and I haven't had to contend with much more than post-holiday drivers firing shots at each other in parking lotts for spaces. The easiest way to avoid the frustrations of the outside world: hermithood! _________________ Chris King

Left St. Louis going south. Knew there was snow about 30 miles south, they DIDNT say there was ICE. It was a nightmare. I got THE LAST room in this small town in Arkansas. It had a coulple of guys in there first but they left because it didnt have heat. I jumped on it. It wasnt cold at all, not nearly as cold as my apartment in St. Louis. I was very lucky. At one point I was praying to just make it to a gas station before I ran out of gas so if I had to sleep in my car I wouldnt freeze to death. I was very lucky.

5 hours and 45 minutes to get from Columbus to Cleveland on Christmas Eve (usually takes me just a hair over 2 hours). We had a little snow and ice, and after waiting two days for my apartment complex to plow, I finally gave up and dug/melted my way out for about 90 minutes. Then I left and had a new record slow drive. Most of the problem was that there was so much traffic because people waited to leave. Also, people here in Columbus don't know how to deal with snow at all (I grew up in the lake effect snow belt in Ohio, so I'm rather used to it). All in all a long trip! _________________ Danelle Wilbraham |

Delta lost my luggage for 2 days when I got to Mobile.
American lost my luggage when I got back to St. Croix, and still hasn't found it. Really looking forward to that leftover gumbo and fried shrimp my wife packed for me to take back..... and all my socks and underwear.
2 of the people I was supposed to pick up Friday didn't get in until this morning, and the 1 I was supposed to pick up tonight is stuck in San Juan, and won't get in until tomorrow. |
