I am leving for the Sugar Bowl tomorrow. I'm very excited, but now I have to rant. Ive been watching these bowl games and I find it digusting. 56 teams get to play in bowl games. 56!!! Anyway, I just dont see the value of that. I mean, who gives a crap if Texas A&M has proven their ability to get get beat 38-7 by a decent football team.(No offense to you Aggies out there.) I just dont see the point. Next, I have the BCS. I hate it with every fiber of my being. Why can't we just have controversy like we always used to. It hasnt helped anything, and its made many things worse. As you may be able to tell by now, Im a huge Auburn fan and I'm quite sure they got the shaft. I dont care you you like, they win games more decisively than any other team. Anyway, I have to go pack. Just wondering what you guys thought.

Sorry man but I think that OU and USC deserve the championship game.
Last year it should have been LSU vs. USC but the BCS is the accepted system and "you live by the sword you dies by the sword."
Now I will say this.... In cases like last year with LSU, USC, and OU there should have been two "championship games". LSU vs. OU then the winner of that game (LSU) and USC should have had the face off the following week.
This year same thing.... OU vs. Auburn and the winner of that faces #1 USC for the 'championship"..... Seems like a very logical solution, but thats just not the way it works.....yet!
P.S. it's also a MONEY thing!!! A USC/OU game will definitely make more $$ than with Auburn in the mix!
It just puzzles me how this same situation happened two years in a row.... I say DOWN WITH THE BCS! |

OK, maybe it ain't so stoooopid--there might actually be a few idiots out there who are concerned with who is #2 or #3--I'm not

Being a Trojan alum, I have to agree with the last post. What difference does it make, no one can touch USC.

Auburn's schedule was simply too soft to warrant playing for the NC. Look at some of the creampuffs they played: Lousiana-Monroe, Miss. State, the Citadel, LA Tech, Kentucky, and Ole Miss. Auburn also played a 5-6 Arkansas team and a now 6-6 Alabama. LSU held you close (within 1 point). The only two teams of consequence that Auburn beat were TN and Georgia, both of which won their bowl games. Auburn is right where they ought to be: third.
As an aside, there are too many bowl games. I think that you ought to have at least 7 wins to be eligible. Too many bowls were having trouble finding teams from their tied-in conferences this year. Even my team, Alabama, shouldn't have been there at 6-5. Time to institute a play off!

I guess I didnt express myself well. I wasnt unhappy about USC, they have a damn good football team. I was pissed because I thought OU sucks and didnt have a chance. Turns out I was right. Im just sayin that if Auburn was in it, at least the first half might have been good. Anyway, Id hate to have to play USC next year. or the year after that. or the......

Did OU even show up last night? They were pathetic; but that was possibly overshadowed by the wonderfull singing of Ashlee Simpson.

Nick Saban from LSU had his eye on the Miami Dolphins and too much emphasis was taken off of his task at hand! IOWA got LUCKY! |

You're both wrong! LSU was a highly overrated team, and Iowa got lucky beating them. So what does that say about Iowa? My team however won the Rose Bowl! |

We still won. (To tell the truth, I didn't even watch the game! I wasn't home....)
I'm a hawk fan until I go to college...then I'll have to have school pride and become a (college name here) fan.
