I thought I would post this in a new topic. Here are a couple pics of a trumpet that was put in the mail to me yesterday - can't wait to get it. It is a New York Bach, serial 18xx, with the rare finish 4 (silver plated with gold inlay in the engraving) and engraving all the way to the bell curve, and some inside the bell as well. I bought this off Ebay a year ago as a basket case, consulted with Roy Hempley on what it should look like, and finally got it done. Restoration was performed by Robb Stewart and plating was done by Anderson's. The gold one in one of the pictures is in comparison to the more common finish 5 gold plate. The picture of it in pieces was taken by Robb during restoration, but you can see what the finish was like when I got it.

Very tasty.
The contrast works really well.
Thanks Steve.

That looks gorgeous Steve - the question is does she play as good as she looks? _________________ Adrian

I don't think it will play as good as it looks. The valves are a little loose, but I decided to hold off on getting them replated. The valves are brass, which I think is kinda uncommon. If I replate them, they will be nickel. I will see how it plays, but I don't intend for it to be my main horn.
