I saw a Callet Jazz on ebay a few years back that was engraved quite a bit and that was the first time I thought about having a trumpet engraved, after that I had my Callet Jazz basically covered in engraving. The pattern that appealed most to me was a celtic inspired pattern. I've always had a great draw to the old engraved cornets so I guess it was just a matter of time. _________________ Andrew Fowler

I had mine done at Artistic Engraving and it came out great. I had the Bach Strad. Deluxe done in June 02. I see the prices have gone up since then.

It's not my cup of tea, so to each his own.
To me, engraved trumpet bells look like snakeskins. Deciding as to whether to engrave a trumpet would seem to me to be somewhat like making the decision to get a tattoo. Once done there's no going back. You're stuck with it.

My Benge 3X came engraved. It was just on the bell and the inside rim, but it was pretty. It wasn't very annoying and I got quite a lot of comments about it.

I would love to customize my horn. Gravings and gold shotblasted plating. _________________

I'd love to have a horn engraved with a dancing Faun playing a trumpet surrounded by naked nymphs! Sort of a take off on the old Conn engraving! _________________ There are two sides to a Trumpeter's personality: There is the one that lives only to lay waste to the woodwinds and strings, leaving them lying blue and lifeless along the swath of destruction that is a trumpeter's fury. I'd want Celtic or Asian designs. I kind of wish my old TR had the engraving of the new ones... |

My horn isn't personally engraved but It came with Maynard Ferguson Horn engraved in the side with fancy lettering, It was standard on the Maynard models in the 70's. _________________ Keep Playin'
