I just got a Kanstul "French Besson" 94B Stamm horn and was looking for a little info. It has the Najoom leadpipe and reversed tuning slide. It has a .464 under the serial, the #1 above it and a B under the bell. I know the .464 is the bore size and the B is the bell style but when did Kanstul make the Stamm?

Thanks for the help.

My approximation is from around 1996-2001 or so. All of those horns were made by Kanstul...

When did he go from Getzen to Kanstul? It does not say his name anywhere on the horn... how do we know?
Thanks

Marv's relationship was with Boosey, rather than Kanstul. Kanstul made the Besson horns for Boosey.

Here is some discussion of the horns on Marv's web site.

It appears he is still connected with these instruments.

Well the horn arrived. I like it a lot... maybe love it.
I am having some lip problems so I have only played it for a very short time.
It is very light... compared to the Holton I did have. It feels a lot like my old post war Besson... only better! Typical Kanstul quality. I will post more when I can play.

Thanks
