The valves are Bauerfine. The same as Eclipse and I think Destino and Hub van Laar and I suspect most of the other high end European makers such as Straub, Inderbinen etc. Stainless steel valve sleeves have been around for at least 30 years..my old B&H cornet has them, and the valves on that are excellent.

I stand to be corrected though.

The trumpet with the flames is the Phoenix and if you can get past the looks it's excellent..not too dark and easy to play. Dominicano has it just about right.

I personally like the looks of the Phat Boy and if it plays like his regular flugels it'll be a cracker!! It doesn't have to look like a Cousenon (sp) you know?

Just my 02 cents but I am somewhat biased.
