would one just use a clarinet stand or flute stand for this? Or does any company make specialty piccolo trumpet stands?
thanks for any responses!

K & M also make a picc. stand. woodwindbrasswind carries them. The clarinet idea sounds interesting. The picc stand is very close to the floor.

I also use the K&M Clarinet stand & it works great for me too.. It seems to be VERY stable, compared to the 3 leg Trumpet stand. I may get a K & N multi-peg stand so I can have my B, C, Eb/D & Picc all on one stand..
Any one ever used one of those? |

In a pinch, I've used a trumpet spider stand without the top before... it actually worked pretty well. _________________ Man... If ya gotta ask, you'll never know... L.Armstrong |

I just used the regular K&M trumpet stand. just went in the bell a little, and wasn't quite as stable as it probably could have been, but it worked. Got the idea from Fred Mills, saw him do it with the CB. _________________ Nicholas Dyson

K & M makes a four legged stand that folds up inside the bell like the regular one. It is stable and convienient as well. As for who would need all these horns, all I have to say about that is three words: musical pit orchestra. |

The K&M clarinet stand was recommended to me and the pure brass shop I was in stocked the clari stand!!! Seems to work out well. _________________ Eclipse XLR Scratch Gold

I use a clarinet stand for my picc. Actually, I just have the top half of it (don't need the legs) as I use it on one of the multi horn stands. Those work great but if you get one you'll need to be careful not to strip butterfly nut that attatches to center bolt. A buddy of mine would always collapse his stand (only had 2 pegs on it) to make it easier to transport but it ended up stripping after awhile.
As to who uses all those horns on a gig...well, I do all the time. In the quintet I play Bb, C, D, Eb, picc and fluegel on a very regular basis. I'd say just about every rehearsal I use all my horns. Several gigs I've been on lately I had to lug ALL of them along. That gets pretty heavy...and cumbersome. I can't tell you how many times I've tried to carry too much at once and a horn case goes bouncing off the ground. _________________ All the Best,
