I was making the BIG mistake of trying to incorporate parts of other methods of which encourage free lip buzzing. Well, I almost wrecked my playing and almost scrapped Caruso entirely. I thank the Lord that I went on vacation and got away from trumpetdom and LIP BUZZING. ( thanks in part to my lazy nature)

I've been back from vacation and gotten in 3 solid weeks of practice. I started back at week one (no lip buzzing mind you) and am blown away how my playing has turned around when I just stick to the Caruso stuff.

I find that it is hard to put the horn down at the end of my session because I feel so good and just wanna keep on going. (My wife would never see me if I wouldn't cut it short!) This stuff really works if you have patience and perservere. I am totally sold over any other method.

Lip buzzing is just one tool among many that can bring your embouchure into balance. When done correctly, they usually get pretty good results.

Glad to hear things are going well. It's normal for things to improve, reach a certain palteau and then slip a little, improve again to a higher plateau and slip a little but not as far back as the last time, etc.

Stay with it.
