One thing is not quite clear to me :
Do I have to keep the facial muscles tensed in the resting bars between the notes ?
Mouthpiece contact, yes, but tension or release ?
Thank you

Freddieh,
The way Carmine gave the assignments to me and my brother in the 70s was to maintain the tension AND the mouthpiece pressure while breathing. |

Thank you (again) !
So as I understand it I have to keep the tension of the tone I played at last.
Not only some or a little tension, but all the tension !?
Here in Germany Caruso is very unknown to most players, I do have a copy of his book and their is ONE sentence about this tension topic, but most of my friends did not read this sentence or did not care about the importance.
I am very happy to have found this site, because I was very lost with my Caruso copy.
I tried Balanced Emb. for a few days but I had a very bad feeling about doing it without help, so I will work on the Caruso again.
Just one last thing : I have a book from a trumpet player named Zorn : Exploring the upper register.
It is quite useful for me, allthough nothing "spectacular". Maybe someone can share his experience with me ?

Hi Freddieh,
go to "high range development" > "best high range exercise"
There is some information about the Zorn.
Since you too live in Germany, can you tell me where you got that book. I have no idea how to get one.
