I like it behind the beat too. I wouldn't want to play it on C at all though! Just asking for trouble. Way too step up and get it done!!!!

| Peronsally - I prefer the gracenote before the beat, although if the conductor is taking the peice faster, putting it on the beat is a big help when speeding it up. |

I've heard the grace note both ways, but like all of you I too prefer it before the beat. Even if it's at tempo do tear-ass I'll still put it before the beat by double tongueing the grace note with the ku syllable just before the beat. Basically saying ku-tu-ku-tu-ku. It's a bit weird to get used to but it can be done. My trumpet teacher feels it's just plain wrong to put the grace note on the beat making them even 16th notes.
How do y'all prefer to play the 32nd notes in the scale towards the end? I prefer to play it like it's written as a dotted 16th with 4 64th notes. I think that's how it works out...I don't have it in front of me. I know this can be played either way and be accepted.

I was always taught and prefer the grace note before the beat.
The note is written on the beat which is when it should be played. Any embellishmen in this case should precede the note.
Always, professional license and conducter preferance.
