I'm not familiar with this mute, but Giardinelli does not seem to be marketing it as a practice mute, more as some sort of all round, can sound like anything mute??? |

The Softone mute is not actually designed to be a practice mute but it is possible as an alternative. Please see Jim Donaldson's Trumpet Gearhead Website http://www.dallasmusic.org/gearhead/Practice%20Mutes.html for a comparison of this with 15 other practice mutes.

LA Trombonist Ira Nepus designed the SoftTone Mutes.
A superb mute that can be used as a practice and bucket mute.
Easy to use and transport around.
These are pretty popular and inexpensive.
I have known quite a few trumpet players to use the SofTones with great results.
