usually i will buy one every year - they are cheap so why not? - however after reading this, I know I keep one under the sink for wheh i am cleaning my mouthpieces... it is really old and is not very blue anymore and is falling apart, i used it to wipe the finger prints off my horn and it still works pretty good...
I guess it comes down to being vain... to be seen with an old ugly dirty rag or not...
maybe you should write the year and month on yours and tell us how long it will work... or how bad it has to look before someone comments on it....
