Back in the mid-fifties a record was released called "Tutti's Trumpets". It contained a trumpet solo called "Trumpeter's Prayer", which was written for and played by Conrad Gozzo. My copy of this recording is long since worn out. It was worn out before we had casette tapes to back up our records. Does anyone know if this recording has ever been re-released, especially on CD, or some other source for this song? Also I have a copy of the sheet music for Trumpeter's Prayer, which presents the bare melody of the song, but I've never seen a copy of the arrangement that Conrad played on the recording. Does anyone know where a copy of that arrangement might be? Thanks ahead of time. _________________ S. T.

GO to the Internation Trumpet Guild (ITG) with this question? I think I saw it listed somewhere in their website?
Just a thought? |

Trumpets and Its companion, Tuttis's Trombones (also a killer album) were re-released on record in the 80's and then on cd in the Early 90's. They are very rare, but I have both, but no way to copy them. They are out there, but it just takes some looking. If you like that song, check out George Graham's version of it, its a killer, different kinda style goin on. I don't like it as much as the Gozzo, but it is undeniably a true work of art. |
