In the spirit of useless polls (dog or cat, favorite major scale, what mouthpiece, etc etc), what is your favorite interval? (musically, not trumpet-ly) Also, if you can think of any, what are your favorite songs that use that interval prominently?

I was just playing around and I realized how much I loved the sound of the minor 6th and the harmonic minor scale. (Thats the one with the b6 and #7, right?)

EDIT, sorry, couldn't fit half step, or anything above minor seventh.

I picked perfect fourth, because I'm working on My Funny Valentine for All-State auditions and when it moves from an E something chord to a D something, the top space E up to A is just gorgeous.

I voted for major 6th, but my favorite intervals aren't really intervals I guess, I really like major 7ths and 9ths in a chord! Jazz........

Favourite Interval - one when there is enough time to get to the bar and have a relaxing drink before the second half

I can't believe that no one jumped all over me to correct my "major 4th or major 5th" statement.

OK, I'll jump on it - there's no such thing as a major 4th or 5th! You wouldn't believe how difficult it is for some students in my theory class to understand this...

That's funny, because when I think of a tritone I think Mariaand when I think minor 7th I think Somewhere (There's a Place for Us). Both are from West Side Story!!!! I love that musical and I love both of those intervals!
