Anyone have any experience with the above product? Described as:
"Similar to the Crown Royal bags used by many trumpet players with some added benefits..."
I looking for a good practice mute without a lot of back pressure. |

Aparently trumpet players used to (or still do) use Crown Royal bags as mutes. Cover you bell and practice away. Supposed to work pretty good.
I know someone out there is familiar with this... some help please? |

The bag are not practice mutes, but merely an "effect" to mellow the tone a little. Takes the edge off the sound.

Yes, Crown Royal bags are used to mellow out the sound of a trumpet. These aren't nearly as popular as they used to be, but I did run across a trumpet part in an opera that asked for a bag mute last semester. These wouldn't work as a practice mute, as it doesn't quiet the sound like a practice mute, only takes the edge off. They are good for smooth soft playing in a combo jazz gig as well. |
