Awesome! Sounds like a band that I'm in. Does your wife's group have a link? I take comfort in knowing we're not the only insane people out there.

http://www.mummers.com/stringbands/
This site is a list of Philadelphia Mummers String Bands. My wife and my father play in "Duffy". That is the ONLY sting band WITHOUT a web site!
The band you're in looks similsr, but string bands do not alow brass instruments. just accordian, banjo, alto-tenor-baritone-and bass saxophones, and percussion. and glockenspiel...which is percussion...I guess

my girlfriend puts me to shame. she plays the piano and organ, saxophone, and guitar... oh yeah she sings too

the crazy thing is that she plays all these instruments fluently... also it's cool because whenever i need a piano or guitar accompanist i just call her up

sometimes we get in some wicked crazy music conversations..

in the past i've hooked up with trumpet players, flute players and clarinet players.

My husband *was* a percussionist in high school and in the Fightin' Texas Aggie Band, but he thinks he *is* a percussionist even though he works in the computer field...

I like that I married a man who understands music, even though he doesn't do it for a living. I can't really relate to his job like he can relate to mine, but he is very supportive, which I appreciate!

I admit that I'm socially retarded from too much practicing (and unix-programming). Or maybe I'm practising too much so that I wouldn't have time to date. I haven't ever dated no-one longer than couple months ...seriously and I'm almost 20yr old. I'm afraid that dating could ruin my dedication for trumpet playing. I know two friend of mine who stopped playing trumpet because of their girlfrends.
