I live in Houston and a lot of family and friends are evacuating to get out of the area. I personally don't know if I am or not. But if for a long time I do not post, you will know why...if you want my cellphone number I believe I gave it to Emily (trptgirl)...
Wish us luck here in Texas... _________________ Arise to the occasion...

It's smart to get out of there, especially if you live in the east or southeast side of houston, right where the ship channel goes by (which is where my parents live). It's predicted that if a cat 3 or 4 hits the ship channel, that entire side of Houston will be at least 20 ft under water. Best to be safe and get out of there, at least to Huntsville, but farther North preferably. Best of luck! _________________ If the track is tough and the hill is rough, THINKING you can just ain't enough! - Shel Silverstein |

No matter what else you decide to take with you, you'd better be packin'!

I'm evacuating immediately after work today. There are no hotel/motel vacancies in Dallas, Austin, San Antonio or anywhere in between. They're all booked up, so I think I'm going to drive out I-10 West as far as it takes to get a room. It's either that or drive up towards Nashville, TN to where my brother lives. I really hope I don't have to drive too far. This will be my last post until after the storm. I will check in sometime next week. _________________ J. Fowler

My parents just left Houston today. They had to go all the way to Atoka, Oklahoma to get enough rooms for the entire family. God be with all my fellow Texans. _________________ Mike

Everyone in Housto/Texas will be in my prayers. Please also pray that it doesn't come near Louisiana again. We had enough with hurricanes. Chris _________________ Check Out my Forum

If anyone needs a place up in New Jersey, there's still plenty of room at our place. For real.
Hope you're all safe.

You can come crash in my apartment in Huntsville, it's small and I have a dog, but I have lots of comfy couches! _________________ If the track is tough and the hill is rough, THINKING you can just ain't enough! - Shel Silverstein |

Anyone thinking about staying... DONT!!! Take it from experience! Get out of town now and I'll also be praying for Houston. It's one of my favorite cities as well.
Get the hell outta there....It's not worth the stress to stay. You can always replace a house or a car, but you cannot replace your life. God Bless all of you in the path! |

Well, I got out to Austin with some family over there. I hope that all my friends who stayed will be safe, INCLUDING my father...stubborn man. I do appreciate all of you who care, thanks a lot...
P.S. I do not actually own a gun, but I did bring a large stick (shinai) that I will be taking back with me in case anyone has let themselves into my house... _________________ Arise to the occasion...
