Does anybody know who did the trumpet solo on "Somewhere", the first track on Tom Waits´"Blue Valentines" album? The credits on my CD booklet don´t list the musicians for that tune. I always liked that solo - nothing flashy, very thoughtful and a lovely tone.
Thanks,

I'm pretty sure it's Herbert Hardesty. I know Tom is very fond of him, and credits him on oh-so-many-albums. heck of a player!
there's a great waits bootleg titled "cold beer on a hot night". If you can get your hands on it, you'll be treated to some trully awesome solos by herb. the crowd digs him too. |
