I recently heard the chant and it totaly blew me away. I was hoping someone could recommend something like it. no bossa, or samba stuff. just rythmic cuban stuff like that.
thanks in advance |

I haven't heard the Shew cd, but I have several recordings by Cubanismo. Jesus Alemeny is the lead trumpet player and it is great stuff. Arturo Sandoval has some good latin rhythm recordings and there is an album/soundtrack to mambo kings that is pretty good as well. _________________ Best Regards, Play Well!! |

If you're into the cuban style, I might suggest some Arturo Sandoval CD's. I picked up "LA Meetings" at the same time I got the Shew Cd last year. To tell you the truth, the Sandoval CD's got more listening done to it. Great music, but a little short on songs on that particular CD (i believe it's 6 tracks). _________________ Chris King

thanks. it'll give me something to search for over the weekend ; )
I'm actually a pretty big sandoval fan myself. I have "Tumbaito". It's also a great album, about 6/7 tracks, all quality stuff.
anyhow,
thanks again |

If you're looking with respects to Trumpet players, you might also check out recordings by Ray Vega and Charlie Sepulveda. Both in the Latin/Latin Jazz vien. Great players with authentic Latin approaches! |

Check out the afro-cuban all stars! Those guys can sizzle. Also check out Paquito D'Riviera his albums usually have burning trumpet players. |
