Bushmills on ice...my horns arrayed about me...my dog at my feet...my wife at her weekly ladies' night out...the Christmas tree twinkling...light snow falling....fire crackling...a stack of tunes to play...what could be better?
Wait, I don't have a fireplace. Guess I should check that out. _________________ Jim Hatfield

I take it all of your children are grown and out of the house?
That's ok... I'll cry like a baby when each of my four finally get out on their own.
Concur with the bliss of the dog lounging in the living room with you, although the appearance of brass instruments tends to send him slinking away.
.... What's a bushmill? ...and isn't it hot drink season?
Enjoy your evening, Jim! |

Yep, boys grown, married, earning. Bushmills: Irish whiskey. Good all year 'round. Fire's out. Dog's asleep. Lip's shot. Bedtime. _________________ Jim Hatfield

Well Jim ... while you faded away to blissful (ZZZZZZZZZs) sleep, I was in blissful conection with the horn until about 1am ... and now it's past 8:30am (Sat.) local time and been at it since 5am this morning... wife got home from work at 5am and was in bed by 6am ... and I'm just enjoying my freedom of the weekend until I have to leave to play later this afternoon. I'm not too concerned about playing too many hours today as 95% of the gig is guitar but if I don't play every day, I can't do the demands of the other 5%.
Saturday morning and can't put the horn down.... Ah, Bliss !!!! _________________ http://www.myspace.com/hughes1946

That flat top box can be pretty demanding too, I understand. Someone once asked Wes Montgomery if he ever practiced and he said, "No, but ever so often I open the case and toss in some raw meat." _________________ Jim Hatfield

Hey, Rich. Where in Nebraska are you? I arrive in Omaha on Tuesday for the holiday. I hope it's not too cold. |

I'm in Grand Island ... I-80, 90 west of Lincoln... but you probably know that. It's cold... had an unusual amount of snow here since Thanksgiving but much less in Lincoln and Omaha. Are you from Omaha? _________________ http://www.myspace.com/hughes1946

I was born in Omaha, but lived in Bellevue. We came out your way for marching contests in High School in the early '70's. My parents now live in Omaha. |

probably the annual "Harvest of Harmony" parade here in October... I think it has been going for something like 60 years or more.
Have a great time in Omaha. Two of our 4 kids live there. Do you get to do any playing while your back ?? _________________ http://www.myspace.com/hughes1946
