You can add "Hub van Laar". He's a Dutch custom trumpetmaker. Lots of dutch players use his horns, me too naturally!

Hey HighQ,
Downtown Harlem, Wilma & Alberts? Are they still serving some of the best steaks around??
Hub van Laar - Wish I would have been on my comeback trail a few years ago, would have loved to visit his shop. Looks like he has quite a nice selection...

Schagerl....an Austrian builder, with very wellknown players using his trumpets (mostly German and Austrian symphony players). If I were to use german rotary valve trumpets, I would get one there!
http://www.schagerl.at/
I know Bob Findley is playing Hub's flugelhorn. I can definitely recommend his Bflat and C trumpets too. I'm the proud owner of one of his C trumpets. It hasn't failed me once. Great intonation, sound, projection, etc. for a normal price, regarding it's a totally custom built order.
I will try the steak from Wilma and Albert in the near future, if I can find the place I don't come to Haarlem as much as I used to. I'm more a spareribs-Gauchos style lover.
P.S.:almost right it's Dankjewel! |

Taylor trumpets have a great website at http://www.taylortrumpets.com.
They also produce a very good promotional CD featuring their trumpets and flugelhorn -- alas no recordings of the interesting looking cornets! |

While brands are being thrown out...
a friend of mine plays a trumpet called Baiers. It is a German brand. I have looked for a website, but come up empty handed. I think it is a bach strad knock off!

So we've made our list of most manufacturers. Should we list the major brand lines for each (e.g. Bach Stradivarious but not all the permutations...)? and can anyone help?
or more fun, how about we place *'s beside each. I vote the Strad as a four-star standard and we go from there... (Is a WT five?)
David
