I think this post would have got more replys had it been posted under the Jazz forum. I think the whole what fake book to use has to do with where you live, ask a local profesional. Here in edmonton, the most common book is the "real book" (always thought that name was less than clever myself) I although got the HAl Lenord book as I needed one right away and the real book isn't available due to copywrite problems. It was put out by some people at berkley was it?? I am still waiting for mine Best of luck, ohh and by the way when the older players tell you "you shouldn't need a fake book", just smile and nod, prehaps laugh. And then go get one. I couldn't imagine how long it would take to pull all the heads and chords off recordings, I don't know anybody who has done that
Good luck,
