flugelhorn mpcs and really like the size. What would be the Bach trumpet equivalent to this mpcs? _________________ Allen - 'Chops-in-Hotlanta'

Does it matter?
If you like the mouthpiece and the size, why worry about it? |

What TrumpetMike left out was that there is no straight-line equivalency between brands of mouthpieces. If you really like the rim shape and size, try out a series of Yamaha 11_4 trumpet pieces.
Also, I agree with the sentiment of "Just play the thing"...what can I say? Mike's the MAN. _________________ RJM

Bach size comparison would be probably like a 7A, or if there were such thing, a 7AW (a 7A with a wide rim, but it doesn't exist). _________________ Bb Trumpet: Bach Stradivarius 180-S37

trumpetmike, I think you missed my point. I like the size of the flugel mpc and would like to try a similar size mpc in my trumpet. I said Bach because I currently play a Bach trumpet mpc and I like the feel of the rim. _________________ Allen - 'Chops-in-Hotlanta'

My apologies for misunderstanding. If you like the Yamaha 11 size, why not take swingintrpt's advice

Why try and search for an equivalent Bach that might not exist?
If you want to mix and match Bach rim with Yamaha underparts, you might be able to get a custom mouthpiece made for you - talk to your local repair guru |

The yamaha 14F4 is made for mellophones and has a trumpet shank. It might be a short trumpet shank though. _________________ N.Y. Bach 31 bell S-bore (.440) 50XX, Bob Reeves 41sv-692s, Bach MV 1.5C/warburton 9 BB for legit.

A Bach 7CFL would be close to the Yamaha 11F4, I have a 7CFL that I don't use because I need a French taper. I sold my Yammie 11F4 when I found my Curry and have no interest in ever changing it. |
