Looking for a CGP for either cornet or trumpet.
I'd like to avoid buy "new" until I'm sure they are the ones I want.
I posted this request once before and picked-up a nice CG3 for $20
While it is a nice MP I don't think it is a true CG MP like those mentioned in the "books" because the cup looks too "c" shaped.
Maybe John can clear up any misconceptions.
Thanks in advance!

Did you also put a post on the TPIN?? That's where I found my 2nd CGP so that I have one for each Bb.
There was a post here on TH in the Marketplace with a CGP (gold plated) for sale... but that would be more than a new silver one ... so you may not be interested in that.
Haven't seen one on ebay lately but there have been some in the past

It's a "true CG mouthpiece". It is very similar to a Bach 3C, but if you compare it to a 3C on the Kanstul Comparator, you'll see that it is a bit more V-shaped (though not as V-Shaped as the CG Personal). And it has a larger throat and backbore. Eric Bolvin maintains that the current CG3 made by Kanstul is not exactly the same as the Benge CG3. I don't know if he is right or wrong, as I never played a CG3 back then. Kanstul theoretically should be accurate, but if their computer-cloning was done from a CG3 from back then that wasn't quite right, then it's possible that it's not an exact duplicate.

The CG 3 that Patty Gordon sells are just like the old Benge ones. (My new one is just like my old one when it was new)
Are they made by Kanstul? |

The CG mouthpieces are made by Kanstul. If you go to the comparator, the CG3 has the same rim as the Personal. The CG3 has a cup very close to the Bach 3C. The Personal has a 22 drill throat and the CG3 has a 23 drill throat. |

Just a minor point of clarification:
The rim contour on the two are similar (both kind of rounded), but the rim diameters are different. The cup diameter on the CG3 is a little larger than the CG Personal. The CG 3 has the diameter of a Bach 3C, the CG Personal is more like a Bach 7. The rim on the Personal is also a little wider than a CG3 Rim.
