I think I got myself in a jam by leading my girlfriend to believe that I'll be treating her to a picnic serenade by candlelight in Paris or some exotic locale like that. While I don't think I can do the France thing, I might still be able to pull off the picnic serenade.

My question...
Does anyone know any pieces that might be good? Keep in mind that I only have one (unemployed, empty) week to work these up. I want to avoid this coming off as trite (that's probably not the right word. The whole idea seems pretty trite, I know.), so popular/disneyesque songs are probably out... The object of my serenade isn't a musician, so it might help that the piece(s) be somewhat accessible.

Thanks for any help you can give. If I can't do this, I suppose I've always got my accordian...
Thanks again,
John

"My One And Only Love" has always worked for me. My old joke is "I'd like to dedicate this song to all the women in my life".
You can hear my version at http://www.bolvinmusic.com/jq.html

Hey, thanks Eric!
I even kinda know that one already. I think that one will work just perfectly.

I listened to the recording on your site. It's really awesome.
Thanks a million,
John
