For Reinhardt students and especially for the neophyte wishing to know more about Doc, The International Trumpet Guild has this great interview by Tom Everett from THE BRASS WORLD vol. 9 no. 2 . Go to http://www.trumpetguild.org and find ITG Resource Article Reprint. It is very basic and informative.

Dave;
Have you ever seen the original unedited interview????????
Doc used to refer to this interview as "The Reinhardt Watergate Tape".

Bill, where can one get the original text? I guess from Tom Everett. I just looked at the ITG article and there is a GREAT picture of Doc playing on a plastic mouthpiece...a true III Jelly Roll. Plus "The Cluttered Studio" picture, a classic! ... Dave S. |

I have been given permission by the ITG to post the interview with Doc by Thomas Everett. I'll let you know when I get it up on the PivoTalk web-site.

OK, you can't dangle this obviously juicy story in front of us and not elaborate. What got left out? Inquiring minds want to know! _________________ wilktone.com |

As far as I know,
There was a taped interview and the transcription was not exactly to Doc's liking.
There was at least one repeat of the interview.
