Selling an Eclipse for $1000 makes me question the whole story. A decent used one will cost around $2000+ and a new one is well over $3000. Why would anyone take that kind of loss?? This is really hard to believe.
OTOH, if it was ratty enough to bring only $1000, then it probably had issues related to use and not manufacture.
Fishy...

I have my own custom yamaha, and I a shiny new Yamaha YTR-8335LA. They play almost the same, I'm just trying to see which one plays better for me.

I call Bull Sh*t. Nobody sells one that cheap unless it's really worn out. Tell us the whole truth about its condition when you bought it.

It was in mint condition. I bought from another musician in the LA area, it didn't work for either of us. I sold it for what I bought it. Stop being so immature, it's a trumpet. It didn't work so I sold it. Get over it.
Foxy, love your attitude.
Boyd.
p.s. this will be my last response as any future responses will be even greater wastes of my time on you. So just let this thing die. |

One sold for $2500 on Ebay last week, used, so it's easy to understand why no one believes you.
BTW, your the one that started this stupid thread, so don't complain about the *ss kicking.

Where's this perceived *ss kicking?
His horn, his business. He can sell it for $10 if he wants. _________________ كافر

Sure, but do we have to believe him? The voracity of anything he says is called into question when he tells us he sold something worth $2500 for $1000, then feels compelled to tell us it was a POS and then defames the lovely Ms. Lara.
If it sold on TH, who bought it? It's easy to "stage" a TH sale.
I can understand someone not liking a particular trumpet, but this smells anti-Eclipse, as if he's got an agenda.

Quote: | Stop being so immature, it's a trumpet. | You sure didn't feel that way when you sold your trumpet. You made sure EVERYONE knew how much you hated this horn. To bad you didn't give it away "to the poor guys out there busting to make it in the professional world." Plus, if this is so unimportant, why did you post the ad the way you did? Why did you then start this thread in the first place? No one would have known you got some nasty emails... NO ONE, until you brought it up. How do we even know you got one "very angry" PM or email? Let alone "a lot"?

Dave, you're right, something just doesn't jive, does it?

Voracity /= veracity. One has a voracious appetite, while one who is truthful is veracious. _________________ Kevin |

Hiya
what a fuss - but I tell you one thing. This is one weird and unlucky Eclipse. I mean you have what is considered a desirable hooter, in mint condition according to the seller, that has been sold TWICE by 2 pros, for a $1000 a time.
That is one unlucky trumpet - it should make over twice that any day of the week. This isn't a comment on the horn but in this day of ebay, TH marketplace etc, things will normally find their true value.
$1000 isn't the 2nd hand value of this horn, whatever the seller thinks about it's quality. Put it on ebay with good pics, decent description, good feedback and end the auction at a decent time and it's true value will come out - but I'll guarantee you one thing - its market value isn't $1000.
all the best

|
|
Hi,
It matters not if it be Eclipse or another manufacturer. Buying a horn without playing it first can be a risk.
From my understanding-brass instruments from the same manufacturer (even the same model) may play differently. l've heard that there are musical nuances with the instrument. Each one should be experienced by the player, who then makes the educated choice to buy.
Understandably, the try out may not be possible for various reasons, but when that happens, there is always a risk involved.
Can the manafacturer be blamed if the customer buys a horn without playing it before hand? How does it know that the horn will meet each player's preferences?
It appears that expensive horns need a try out, too.
Best wishes!
