Just create a new user id and start posting under that.
In your signature section you could add: "The artist formerly known as mulligan stew" in case you want everyone to make the connection.

Creating a new ID is against the rules though has been allowed for special circumstances. PM user trumpetherald (the sysadmin) and see what Todd suggests -- he may be able to do a systematic change for you.
