I thought of you last week when I was in Kansas City. I went to the American Jazz Museum at 18th and Vine and saw an Olds Recording cornet being used as part of a display. It was an L.A. model in really nice shape, except that the bell had been CUT IN HALF as part of the display.

Hey Krax, yes the silicone cloth protects it really well, but as far as the raw brass smell...I actually don't have to worry about it. I use an old cotton washcloth to hold it. So my hands don't smell afterwards. _________________ Philippians 1:6 |

Alternatively... when the lacquer started gooping off my Besson in a hot water bath... I stripped all the lacquer except the valve block.
Maybe I don't have corrosive sweat though... my Phlugel is raw and I never get green hands. There's always the commercially available valve guards too. _________________ "Stomvi" PhrankenPhlugel w/ Blessing copper bell

Correct! Marcinkiewicz Rembrandt SC.
The other one is an Eclipse Equinox. (What a neat little horn!) BIG sound.

It seemed like a good idea at the time. It went towards a Flugel.
I am looking around for a contempora cornet as a replacement now. _________________ 2007 Eclipse MR
