All the big names -- AT, EV, AKG, Shure etc. make mics in the <$50 range which would work; I think you'd be better off spending the $100 for a Shure 57 or equivalent Sennheiser, Sony, AT, etc. OTOH, unless it's a pro level sound card, any mic from a reputable company would probably be OK into your sound card. I'd probably get a $20 radio Shack special and be done with it.
It wouldn't sound like my old departed (sob) Neumann's, but for practice and fooling around would be fine. _________________ Don Herman/Monument, CO
