This is a dangerous topic because everyone has an opinion of what LP's you "must" listen to. I personally dig Wynton and Clifford. But, guys like Stan Getz, John Coltrane, and even Dave Brubeck can be important. If you really want to expand your horizons, though, try some Monk. I love that cat!
