Just a word about INTIMATE sound. It gets real hard to explain sound. One players bright sound is anothers dark. My job has always been to try to interpret the players terms. I used intimate for the sound of my Armstrong Balance Model because of the smaller french type taper in the bell. Like Louis the player is able to play in a small room with a small group with ease. I hope this helps.

Roy Lawler's application of the term "intimate" applies to this (my)Lawler Balanced Model, BUT, it will with amazing ease peel the paint, ala Conrad Gozzo and his old French Besson, off of the back wall at about a 150 foot range, without the need for any electronic assistance and totally void of any distortion or speading of the beautiful sound. Anyone doubting this claim need only to drop out to L.A. for a demo.

The Lawler HJ Balance Model will be alot different in it playability. First of all it will be a large bore .464. It will have a large taper yellow brass bell with a full 5" rim. The leadpipe will be my #1 taper with a larger venturi opening. It will have a fully engraved bell and it will be finished in 24K gold plate. At this time it is still available. It will be finished later this month.
