Oh, yeah--forgot to mention Cab Calloway--he did a couple of shows during my cruise ship gig years ago. We also had Vic Damone, Pat Boone, and George Kirby aboard on different cruises (Kirby, for you young guys, was a very funny comedian who brought a whole bunch of Basie charts with him--after playing all those boring Broadway show tunes over and over it was a breath of fresh air). _________________ Bryan Fields

I met MrClean and arranged for him to have lifetime privileges at The Woodlands, home of the Shell Open, by explaining to the pro there that he was my brother-in-law.
He never even took me up on it.

Living in new jersey, i've met too many people at dillon's to even remember. I'm only a junior in high school, and i've met guys from russia, france, and england, all of whom came to dillon's for a certain service. Numerous pros. I'm gonna say the guy that i liked most was David Sendef. He and i spent about four hours playing numerous horns and driving the guys at the front desk nuts. We must have played 75 horns before i decided on my schilke. A real class act. If anyone in the pittsburgh area sees him, tell him nick said hi lol.
By the way, i'm like a dillon's addict...i LOVE THAT PLACE!!!!!!! _________________ Harrelson 907 2005

I met Chris Bogios (San Francisco Symphony) at my wedding and at my father in law's (he was a very fine Bay Area trumpeter) funeral. I was pretty broken up at the thought of never playing trios with he and my mother in law again. He said, "You can play with me anytime". Nice man. They were very good friends. I also met and played with Harry "The Hipster" Gibson in a garage party in Boot Jack, Ca.. I didn't realize who he was till I was in a Jazz class in college and there he was - In The Text Book!. They all looked at me like I was nuts when I said, "I just played with this guy last week!" _________________ Scott LeVal
