Wildman really is him. I recognize his picture from the internet. He really is the wild bull of the pampas. |
Just because he used the guys picture in his avatar, it doesn't mean it's him.
I could put a picture of Harry James next to my name but it doesn't make me Harry... |

Luis Firpo was an Argentine and a boxer - there's a famous painting of him knocking the Bronx Bomber clear out of the ring. Pampero Firpo was an Argentine "professional wrestler" of German descent who was born in 1930, which would make him eighty years old now.
"Why do I suspect that Johnsboy is one of Harrelson's many shills?"
Perhaps because you're truly paranoid and have way too much time on your hands? I don't know Jason Harrelson and I'm nobody's shill . . . I just don't like your style (or lack of same). Truth is, if I were going to spend the kind of money I would have to on a custom trumpet, I'd probably be in contact with Tony Scodwell or, since I live six hours from Portland and my daughter lives there, Dave Monette.
As for "babble" . . . if you were Firpo (or even from Argentina) you would have recognized my previous post as "Bonairense" - the Castilian dialect unique to Buenos Aires, from where you purport to be.
Forrest - I'm sorry for your experience. I hope everything works out, something approximating, alright. |

ohiotpt wrote: | RE: Instant Refund
I don't think a refund NEEDS to be instant to be appropriate.
Here's why:
1) A paypal refund would cost about 3% in fees. There is only a 60 day window to simply RETURN the money back to the buyer from a paypal purchase, we know this time period has passed.
2) It's reasonable that a small business wouldn't have $2200 sitting around in a bank account ready to instantly give a refund...especially when that's not the normal practice of the business.
3) Payroll, suppliers, taxes, and rent may all come due during the month and the cash on hand may be already allocated.
4) I think it would look WORSE if one was to get refunds in partials (Heres $500 now, you'll get $1000 in 2 weeks, and then.....)
5) Quickly reselling the item in order to get funds to honor the refund DOES NOT seem to me to be inappropriate. (we can discuss the CONTENT of the listing in another discussion). This could also generate more funds then having the original buyer simply selling it himself, given the well established enhanced selling techniques that the seller employs.
6) A larger company would need some checks and balances to ASSURE that the refund is proper and meets INTERNAL controls, that could take time.
Communication is still the key here.
"Please return the item, and I will refund your money by <Payment Method> within <timeframe> |
10 Days after this posting.
Time for the refunded horn to be sold on e-bay AND feedback left, therefore it can be assumed that payment was received.
So it looks like none of my reasons for delay in refund can be reasonably used.

Johnnie boy you need to work on your sense of humor, your writing style (too much like Jason's) and your English reading comprehension.
That dialect looks like Spanish to me. Very easy to read. If you cared about forrest's situation you would be defending him or at the least you wouldn't defend Jason. Hey maybe would could have a tag team match, forrest and me against you and Jason the Deadbeat, double or nothing?

Question:
Which thread topic do you think would generate the most responses on this forum?
(a) An international thief, scam artist and fake man of the cloth who preys on the trumpet-playing community
(b) A custom trumpet builder who has trouble meeting his delivery dates
Answer:
a = 12 pages
b = 47 pages |

And the answer to that is simple.
The thief and scam artist every agrees is wrong. Some people in this thread see the maker as a person of questionable integrity, and others see this as business as usual.
It is difficult to compare threads where the agreement of the issue is clear when compared with divergent points of belief in the second thread.
I notice also your description of the first was very accurate, while your description of the second implies no other issue beyond delivery date exists. That is completely false. Many other issues exists in the second matter. And, that glossing over of the issue by supporters of the maker is the issue that raises the greatest ire in those who are detractors. _________________ Dr. Albert L. Lilly, III DM

Thanks Fred. This is definitely a dispute but I didn't think this is the common type of internet dispute.
Harrelson shills will still be exposed. Be warned. _________________ "Political power grows from the barrel of a gun."

I am curious...just who are the Harrelson "shills" you keep referring to.......please be specific...name names..........
I have often wondered how many "aliases" you go under..... every now and then I have thought that sounds very familiar... I suspect you have several.....

PS By the way I hope Forrest will get his money soon as well....don't feel you are the only person in the whole world to want that. |

Wildman,
Let's see...one pays many months in advance for a JH trumpet to be delivered. Then why would one expect a rapid refund if he/she is not happy with the merchandise? In the past JH did not give refunds, but was willing to apply the return to another JH instrument. JH claims he will refund Forrest, so the saga continues.....
Best wishes,
Lloyd |

He needs to pay now. He sold the horn. I am quite sure that he rapidly took the original money. He needs to stop playing games. Maybe he is going bankrupt? _________________ "Political power grows from the barrel of a gun."

Wildman and others,
If I recall a promise by JH to issue a refund was accepted by Forrest on or around May 12th. I don't recall if JH gave a date when that would occur. It appears to me that there were three "non-business days" and a national holiday where mail is usually not delivered to homes.
Unless you know when the refund was promised to Forrest, you may be assuming the refund has taken far too long? Has it really taken too long?
I would think that JH has good reason (his reputation) to "refund" the price paid by Forrest, but if JH is "dragging it out" it looks extremely bad for him. It is now June 1st and the JH/Forrest saga continues...
Best wishes,
Lloyd |
