Monty,

(notice no quotes that you hate )

Of course no one nonunamimously didn't vote against duct tape not being able to not do everything since there was no way to submit a vote against it doing everything.

BTW, one thing it cannot do is fix tortured grammar in polls.

Duct Tape makes an excellent replacement binding for an Arban's book.

There was this senior at my school last year that made a trench coat, top hat, pair of pants, sunglasses-rims, wallet, and messenger bag out of duct tape. It was the strangest thing I've seen in a long time.

There's scholarship for University/College for the best dressed couple with clothes made out of duct tape. I'll post the link when I find it.

Edit: There's the link. http://www.duckproducts.com/detail.asp?PID=343 They also have pictures of previous winners on their homepage.

Yeah, it's the "Stuck at Prom" contest. You and your date are supposed to fashion your prom attire out of duct tape and go to prom wearing it. The best couple wins something like $1000 each. I might do that next year, when I'm a senior and allowed to go to prom. (We've got such a big school that only seniors are allowed to go to prom and anyone else has to be the date of the senior. It kinda sucks.)

How big is your school? Back when I was in high school we had slightly over 1500 students in 10-12 and there weren't any restrictions that I can remember.

I guess it also doesn't help that prom's held at the local country club...

Each class is about 350-500 students...so...I think the estimate is around 1700 kids....but I could be wrong.

I think the seniority thing is the driving force...most of the seniors take other seniors. They see it as their dance...

It CAN make great hand cuffs and a gag but makes really lousy lubricant.

It's the standard-issue construction material at the Metro Boston Transit Authority. No seriously, we have whole subway stations that would fall apart without it.

I'll bet.

I once made it all the way to Austria and back on a coach which was litterally held together with Duct Tape, or Gaffer Tape as we like to call it where I come from!

Clarino,

Duct tape and gaffers tape are not the same. (at least here in the US)

First gaffers tape is much more expensive.

Second gaffers tape uses an adhesive that does not leave a residue like duct tape.

Now that I know the difference I am using gaffers tape to hold my mike cables when I am recording live performances.
