Here's a quote from a recent email to a fellow trumpet player...about my new Lawler.
I played the horn again today and quite
frankly I do think I'm getting used to it. I was running through some big
band charts and there was this high F on the end of a Sinatra-like vocal tune and it
felt so good I just pushed it on up to a Bb. Wow, that is the highest note
I've ever played in my life!!! Just one whole step away from dubba C!
This was on my E65S, by the way.
This is not to say you should all run out and buy a Lawler because it will increase your range by a third or fourth (although it IS a phenomemal horn) But this is a huge break through for my otherwise totally classical chops. Lot's of reading on the TH, BE, advise from Vizzutti, and of course PRACTISE have all contributed to this success. Thanks for letting me share! |

Don't pay too much attention to what I said above about equipment; its really all about the AIR and using it the right way! |

pushyred,
Oh no don't say that ... it can't be that easy, or logical ... it has to be the equipment, it just 'has' to be ... (ha ha) Just kidding ...
I can't recal who the quote came from but it was something like ...
**"Trumpet players are the most guibble people on the face of the Earth. They'll buy most anythng if you'll promise them a high note"**
Ok, I can feel the heat now ... flames coming!!!
(-- just kidding you guys --)
Pushyred: Yea Lawlers are very nice trumpets, glad you're diggin' it! I've played a few, can't recal the models, but they were superior in every respect!
Keep going ... dubba C isn't any higher, just a little further away ... go dude!

Yes, I think it is "wound a little tight". I'm planning on having "Mr Venturi" open the venturi a couple of thousanths more, although the more I play it the more I love it. It's his standard .460 bore with a 1A leadpipe. It is serial # 622 which is the first one with Getzen valves and lemme tell you, these valves are even better than I remember Getzen being. The intonation is superb and the sound is just amazing! |

A new personal best !!!!
The last few days I played down to a E flat below dubba pedal C!!!!!
Seriously, pedal notes have never been easy for me. I guess I've been working too hard, i think I'm just relaxing more, playing them softer ... any of you had the same problem wth pedal notes?
