A particular piece of the prolific composer, Giuseppe Tartini (1692-1770)?

Sorry, I should have been more specific.
The Tartini concerto which has been arranged for trumpet. I think it was originally a violin concerto as Tartini played the violin.

try the Robert King website. They have everything there (mostly). You can look for orch., quintet, or piano accomp.

I've always enjoyed Rolf Smedvig's recording. Maurice Andre's is also fantastic. BTW I believe this was at first an Oboe piece (not violin) |

sticky valves is right it was first an oboe piece. and further more i would recomend playing it on a piccolo trumpet, as this piece is written in a high range |

Maurice Andre has two great recordings of the Tartini Concerto in D major that I know of.
1. "Concertos Baroques Italiens" on Erato # 4509-92124-2
2. "Maurice Andre Trumpet Concertos" - 2 record set - on EMI Classics - # 7777-69152-2
Also don't forget that Tartini wrote the "Concerto in Bb major" for trumpet.

Hi Big Brian,
There are quite a few recordings that are good...my favourite being by Rolf Smedvig. His first Telarc Solo Record has this one. Anotnsen's is quite good as is Andre's. |

Definitely agree that it is easiest to play on the A side. I like all of the movements, but the 1st is very difficult. Come in and have high notes right away (concert Ds I think). The third movement is my favorite. _________________ Best Regards, Play Well!! |
