some 30+ years and after three + months I'm hitting an F and I'm on my way to that high C. Man I never thought it was possible but I can now see that high C in the distance.
To all those who are having problems, I say get a good teacher and practice practice practice!!!!!!!!!!!
The reward is amazing.
Also, practicing long notes has really made a difference for me.

Triple F!! That's like Way above double C(which is 5 leger lines above the staff) Triple F would be 11 leger lines above the staff!! Now that's high!! _________________ ---Brian Vessey---

Vessehune, thanks for the correction, double F, sorry. That's still pretty good for me. |

Top-line F is "F". The next one up is F above high-C. The next one past that is "double F".
High-C is two lines above the stave. "Dubba C" is an octave above that.
Whatever, you're making great progress. Keep it up.
Ciao,

Thanks guys, I guess it's just plain old F, but that's ok high-C is still not too far off.
If F below High-C is just F, is the F below that called Middle-F, then Low-F below that? _________________ Allen - 'Chops-in-Hotlanta'

After only three monts back on the horn, F is quite an acomplishment. Well done. I must say, I'm even more impressed with your equipment. Love my Benges, mines a '79 LA.
Keep up the good work! _________________ FOSSIL FULES: Use us and nobody gets hurt.

Thanks Clarino, I'm a business person by trade who happens to work at a music school, so the equipment does come my way from time-to-time; I have also just been very lucky.
The lessons are also dirt cheap and come from some excellent teachers; but practice practice and more practice is really the only way!!!
My horn is almost always the first thing I grab when I get home, she always calls out to me saying "I've been waiting for you all day, hold me and play me loud". lol
My girlfriend is so jealous.
